The population increase has led to a decrease in income per capita, and more than 92% of the population lives on less than two dollars a day. Madagascar's government has also taken a role in this economic decline because they're poorly governing The government has not been regulating the exploitation of their natural resources, creating jobs, or dealing with the infrastructure problems. Thoughts:
After reading this article I feel the government of Madagascar is either too distracted or not strong enough to fix these issues in their society. While all societies have issues such as poverty, it's up to the government to try and reduce these numbers as much as they can. This government however cannot even address issues regarding natural resources or even infrastructure. This angers me because the sole purpose of a government should be to help the people and the growth of the nation as a whole. This makes me wonder what other issues the government could be dealing with that are so important they're ignoring the declining economy.
